Moscow..

Friday May 28
I forgot to mention that yesterday before we got onto the sleeper train that we stopped in Latvia and went to this really neat place called the hill of crosses. There was probably millions of crosses on this hill of all sizes. It was especially moving because this place was created during the Soviet occupation. The Soviets obviously were anti-God and religion so the fact that people gathered together to put crosses on this hill when it was against the authorities of their land is pretty incredible to me.

Today though we successfully arrived in Moscow. I actually slept but today was an EXTREMELY long day. We had to get ready for the day on the train (no showers or anything) and drop our stuff in a storage room at our hotel (THE HOLIDAY INN – its AMAZING!) and then onto our tours.

We went to Red Square which was really neat to see. There we were supposed to see Lenin's tomb but he was “getting cleaned” today so unfortunately it was closed haha. But we got to go to their very upscale beautiful mall located in Red Square and then we went on the Kremlin's tour which is basically where the Russian government resides and works (I think) and then we went to the Armory on a tour which was basically a museum of Russia's history and gifts that have been given to Russia. There we also got to see old carriages and dresses from the olden days so that was really neat to see! Then we went to dinner and ate crepes and then we went to the Russia-American Institute (a Christian University) to sit through their graduation ceremony. It was cool to see how God is moving in Russia, but at this point we were exhausted! We finally got back to our hotel at around 11. It is now 12 and I am finally ready for bed. Up at 8:15 tomorrow, gotta get some sleep! We lost an hour from Lithuania!
